Life is short

Today is a very dark and gloomy day for our campus, because we lost two of our dear fellow workers Ramlan Marpaung (Photocopy Staff) and Berton Situmeang (Security) who died in a  accident in their way to Balige on Tuesday, July 01, 2008.

Ramlan was a very warm and helpful person. He used to greet me with his smile using his funny Batak language's accent. "Horas lae, tibu ma ho ro" and "Naeng mangan do lae?" were two greetings that he used to say to me when we met. He was also ready to give his help anytime when I need him for my work, especially in PMB.

Berton Situmeang was also a friendly security. When I went home from office late at night, I used to saw him walking doing his duty monitoring our campus, and he used to greet me there.

As a Christian, I believe that they're now with LORD in heaven. May God blessed and give strengths to their family.

This moment reminds me that life is very short, and I must make the most it. I'll try to never waste my time in useless activities.

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. - Philippians 1:21

    Sedih waktu dengar kabar duka cita itu, Pak (atau Bang? kan anak2 yang daftar ujian masuk Del minggu yang lalu manggil "Bang" kan? :D )

    Ingat Bang Ramlan yang sambil mem-foto copy suka becanda2, awak pun jadi tak bosan menunggu di ruang foto copy.

    Ingat Pak Situmeang yang selalu senyum, tak pernah marah. Terakhir ketemu akhir bulan April kemarin, pas datang ke kampus PI Del. Untunglah dulu aku udah sempat bawa oleh2 Kacang Sihobuk buat Pak Situmeang :)

    2 orang yang begitu baik dipanggil Tuhan secepat ini.
    Bang Ramlan dan Pak Tumeang.
    Aku gak pernah ingat aku pernah marah atau kesal di buat oleh kedua orang ini.
    Bang Ramlan yang begitu Ramah dan hampir tak pernah marah walaupun kadang mhs2 terkesan memaksa. Juga obrolan-obrolan lucu bersamanya. Takkan terlupakan.
    Pak Tumeang juga, salah satu Satpam paling kalem dan tak pernah membuat Mhs dongkol. Hanya beberapa Satpam di Del yang seperti beliau.

    Aku yakin, hampir semua penduduk PI Del akan berpendapat yang sama tentang kedua staff ini.

    They were gone...

    dan lagi-lagi kita semua diingatkan.. Nasa Jolma Ingkon mate.

    But struggle doesn't have something to do with destiny, right? Man can plan his ways but God direct his path.

    Btw, sekalian promosi ya? :)
